Swinging in the twilight breeze,
I sing along with the arching trees.
Stars come twinkling past the blue,
the sun bids one and all adieu.
I long to stay and swing all night.
I sing, a bird in joyous flight.
An astronaut, i'm counting down,
to rocket back above the ground.
The chains, they squeal.
My soul it shouts, and whoops,
and yells, I let it out!
I race the sunset, never win.
My prize, an everlasting grin.

Rose Red Bridge
Across the Rose Red Bridge I jog,
Inside the mist and through the fog.
A long low horn warns ships below,
The bridge moves softly, to and fro,
Cars in the middle, trucks to the side.
Safely through the air we glide.
While just beyond me, hills of trees
Bend to heed the ocean breeze.
Flares behind the clouds take flight.
They dazzle to the waves' delight!
My own heart beams across the blue,
As this bridge takes me home to you.
Inside the mist and through the fog.
A long low horn warns ships below,
The bridge moves softly, to and fro,
Cars in the middle, trucks to the side.
Safely through the air we glide.
While just beyond me, hills of trees
Bend to heed the ocean breeze.
Flares behind the clouds take flight.
They dazzle to the waves' delight!
My own heart beams across the blue,
As this bridge takes me home to you.
